I am the pastor of St Alphonsus in Langdon and St. Edward in Nekoma. I worked in and directed the Office for Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Fargo for 10 years before finishing my Seminary Theological studies in Denver. I served at Sts Anne & Joachim parish for two years, directed the Vocations Office for eight years, and served four years at St Anthony in Mooreton and Sts Peter & Paul in Mantador. I am also chaplain for Scouting and for the Red River Retrouvaille community, and served for twelve years on the Permanent Diaconate Formation team.
I enjoy teaching and guiding others along their journey of faith as my own life has been joyful and filled with common questions and struggles faced by most people. Along that journey, I studied Computer Science and Engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering, Math Education at Moorhead State University, Philosophy at Cardinal Muench Seminary and North Dakota State University. I visited many different churches as I questioned my own faith background and through it God led me back to the fullness of the Catholic faith. I enjoyed sitting at a weekly information table for a couple years at the NDSU Commons in order to visit with people with questions of faith or those who inquired about my relationship with God and His Church.

St. Alphonsus School was founded in 1921 as a Catholic School intended to instill a sense of purpose and values into education. Our school benefits children both spiritually and academically and it is open to children preschool-8th grade.
St. Alphonsus is fully approved and supported by the parish of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the St. Alphonsus School Foundation.
We welcome students from all faiths and backgrounds. We serve students in the surrounding Langdon area in Cavalier County, and students as far away as Park River, ND in Walsh County.
Alphonsus Liguori (1696–1787) was an Italian Catholic bishop, spiritual writer, composer, musician, artist, poet, lawyer, scholastic philosopher, and theologian.
He was proficient in the arts: a musician, painter, poet, and author.
He published 9 editions of his Moral Theology (1748), a work that was approved by the Pope, in addition to other devotional and ascetic works and letters.
Some of his best-known works are still used by parishes during Lenten devotions.
One of the most widely read Catholic authors, he is the patron saint of confessors.
His life is a practical model for the everyday Christian who has difficulty recognizing the dignity of Christian life amid the swirl of problems, pain, misunderstanding and failure. Alphonsus suffered all these things.
He is a saint because he was able to maintain an intimate sense of the presence of the suffering Christ through it all.
